Burn Some Energy

Sometimes I feel like my kids become possessed for about fifteen minutes and nothing will turn them back into my sweet children until they've had a chance to burn energy.  It's easy to do if you can go outside.  They ride bikes, go to the park, or just generally run around.  Yet sometimes it's way too hot outside or even raining.  If you ever feel like that, here are some ways we've found to burn energy indoors.

Make an indoor racetrack...here is how...

Just grab a bucket and some colorful Pom Poms and your kids will soon be running all around the house!  Find out how

Never underestimate the power of good old-fashioned Hide and Go Seek!

Get out some couch cushions and just jump around on them!

Remember HopScotch but can't quite recall the rules?  Well I'll tell you!

Draw squares or circles in with masking tape on your kitchen floor.  Then have the kids jump in the circles or even throw bean bags into them!

If you like these ideas, you will love my book!  It was released in July, 2012 and was co-written by me and Susan Case.  If you have ever tried to cook dinner while your kid clings to your leg and cries, this is the book for you! In this unique book, which was written by both a Mom and a former Kindergarten Teacher, you will find ways to keep your little kids busy, out of trouble, and motivated to learn.   Kids behave better when they are given challenging projects to work on, which will in turn give you more free time to do the things you really need to do, like washing dishes, paying bills, and relaxing so that you can be a better Mom!
